LET’S BEGIN
This song is an ode to my childhood and the different phases of maturity I went through. As we ride our bikes through new zones of life, it seems we’re always growing up a bit more… in some way. My favorite line: “Start with confidence- what you plant is what will rise.”

Picture a stream. And a salmon. Trying to climb/swim upstream. It’s pond is too small and it needs to relocate. That is my story also. I personified myself as a fish :) I hope this inspires you to keep swimming high- despite the “push of the stream and ache of your muscles”. -2019/2020
Can you hear all the fun ways I used the instruments to tell this story?
Luscious-sounding and in-love. Who is the suitor I speak of? Well it’s my relationship with Christ. The one I know who will love me unconditionally and forever. Not because I did anything to “look perfect”. No it’s a free gift of love. And a free gift of love I’ve seen come alive in my church community. Check out Ephesians 2: 1-10
This is how I make worship music. In a way… you can see all my music as a conversation with God. -2022
I took ballroom/latin dance classes a year ago and it was so fun! And educational! I learned about partnership in dance. Like how I, as the female, need to follow the male’s lead. And how I can’t be too limp, but I also can’t bulldoze him.
But I got a bit sassy with this song, and I proposed this idea to my dance partner: “If I am to follow your lead, I hope you are enjoying this dance (relationship). Because I am feeding off your energy in this dance. If not, why tango at all?”

In my journey as a young adult, I faced a long period of time where I felt lost. Lost in my identity. And that lost mentality spread physically. Spending my “weekends lied on the floor” too tired/confused to pick myself up was my reality. But this song is about how I climbed out. And who helped me.
It was the people with faith in Christ who picked me up. People of all ages, backgrounds, skin colors and experience levels. I sought and found comfort.
Dear reader: yes there are good people still in this world. And people ready to embrace you- you don’t have to be alone. Your life can change. -2022
I grew up in church. I knew the right things to say and do. But I learned that wasn’t enough. Sometimes difficult seasons must come to remind you you don’t have to do this thing called life perfectly on your own.
I drew these lyrics from difficult experiences of my own and of friends. I talked to a friend who said she “just felt numb and didn’t believe anymore”. But I saw her faith and joy change instantly simply by some encouragement from another friend.
This is a song commemorating that change for the better CAN come!
*I wrote this at the University of North Texas (my old music school). I was visiting for a wedding and was drawn back to the pianos in the practice rooms! (Recorded on my phone) -2019
Songs of Storytelling
Birthed from a love of the symphony.
I grew up with with a love for cinematic music and playing in orchestras. My dream was always to interweave that love into other music I enjoyed…like R&B.
My next hope is to transport that love to the stage for others to enjoy together! (Songs were written between 2019 and 2021.)
A Christmas Gift from Summer!
Wishing you ease and peace as you reflect. Written in the Winter of 2021.

This is a collection of my first songs written as I learned to compose and write music. This isn’t the very beginning of my creativity… but it’s pretty darn close.
